[Jesus said,] “For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them.” (Matthew 18:20)
St. Stephen’s is always bustling with activity; indeed, not a day goes by when there isn’t one event or other happening at the church. You can check out the parish calendar here. We use the term “Parish Life” for many of these events — all of the ones, in fact, that don’t fall under spiritual formation, worship, or administration. (Of course, there’s always some overlap among these.)
We have events that happen once a year like the parish picnic (September), Advent Wreath-making (November), the Village Fair (December), and the Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper and Talent Show (February). We also have events that meet seasonally, such as Dine with Nine, the Old Fashioned Community Suppers, and the town strolls. Then there are the gatherings that meet monthly, including Soup and Sandwich, Faith on Tap, Intercessory Prayer, and the Book Group. Finally, our Sunday Morning Fellowship happens every Sunday either up in Walton Rodgers Hall or, when the weather is nice, outside in the courtyard.
Some of these ministries have webpages of their own on this site; for the others, the best way to find out about them is to attend! All are invited to join the parish life of St. Stephen’s. We value community highly here and our parish life events and gatherings are some of the best ways for us to bring the community together.
