“You are the light of the world. A city built on a hill cannot be hidden…In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.” –Matthew 5:14, 16

At St. Stephen’s, we welcome all people to worship with us, join our community, and serve God alongside us. We invite you to “come and see” what God is doing at St. Stephen’s.

A Witness from a Member of the A.A. Group

“Please express our gratitude to St. Stephen’s Parish members. The Watermelon Room has become somewhat of a “legend” in local A.A. circles. I first started attended meetings there on Tuesday nights early in 1982… If you figure 35 years at 52 meetings a year with a conservative average of 20 people, that comes out to over 36,000 meeting attendees in that welcoming yellow room on Tuesday nights alone… The impact of your generosity is astounding when you think of the “ripple affect” that St. Stephen’s willingness to host A.A. meetings has had on the lives of all the people touched and helped or benefitted by the surcease of the effects of active alcoholism. There is an old anectdote often repeated within A.A.: a newcomer to the A.A. program asks one of the old timers, “How does A.A. work?” The old timer answers, “Just fine.” While this statement is true, A.A. needs a place where the newcomers and the old timers can meet and pass the message. The meetings are the vehicle. Thank you so much for providing the place.”
